Flood on the Muz-Suu: one canal intake destroyed
On the night of 22 July the moraine lake Muz-Köl at the head of the Muz-Suu partly burst. Herders warned the valley by radio, and the flood reached the canal intakes about three hours later. Nobody died.
The intake of the Muz-Suu Right Bank Canal and a road bridge were destroyed; gravel covered about 40 hectares. Fourteen houses were damaged in Tash-Bulak.
Water for the right bank will be given through the left intake and a temporary channel within ten days. Farms that lost their crop will receive seed for a second sowing free of charge.
